I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as me - what a great way to celebrate the year in which we re-opened the Cross Inn as a Community Pub. Thanks to our DJ Scott, Linda Pinhey for the amazing buffet, Tom and Carly our brilliant volunteer bar staff and everyone who welcomed in 2017 with us. We also had out Save The Bromley Cross 2016 Awards, a very light hearted attempt to thank everyone who has helped save our pub, by naming just a few of you.
Thanks to everyone who helped make our first Christmas as a community pub so wonderful.
Our Christmas Charity Prize Draw on Friday 23rd December raised £280 for the Great Bromley Friendship Club. That's down to the generosity of everyone who donated the amazing prizes below and everyone who bought tickets. Thank you.
Many, many thanks to Vanda Roberts and the Southend Festival Chorus for leading us in some beautiful carol singing on Thursday night. And thanks to Anthony Roberts, Director of Colchester Arts Centre for the great reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" (fortunately he didn't sing). If you weren't at the Cross, and you missed us live on Facebook, then you can hear how great they sounded on our You Tube channel.
Here's a few photos from 8th and 9th January 2016. Thursday 8th was our our 1st charity quiz undercommunity ownership.
It was just like old times. Brenda wrote the quiz and Richard was question master. Next time we'll get some pub reading glasses for Richard. And as you can see the pub was full.
Many thanks to Dave Monks and BBC Radio Essex who have supported our campaign to Save The Bromley Cross from the start. Here's my interview from Friday 2nd December 2016, the day after we opened
Here's a few pictures from our opening weekend - Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th December
Now under community ownership - a great sign.

We're almost there, and if it all goes to plan the pub will officially be ours, all 150 of us, tomorrow, Thursday 1st December, and we'll be opening at 6:30.
Over 140 people have invested £210,000 which has saved the Cross Inn, Great Bromley, from being lost as our village pub and will allow us to restore it as the heart of the community.
Thanks to all of you who have helped in so many ways.
Onwards and Upwards. I think it's 115 shareholders and £154,000 invested - and I say think because we keep getting more and more shareholders. Thank you all, you wonderful people. Our last pop up pub at the Cross Inn is this weekend, 18th - 20th November and, to meet the terms of our share prospectus, we need to raise £210,000 so we can complete the purchase and re-open the Cross Inn, Great Bromley as a community-owned and community-run pub.
