More Pop Up Pubs Coming Soon...
Thanks to everyone who came to our Pop Up Pub music night in May and I hope everyone will come to our next Pop Up Pubs this summer.
Our next event will be a Sunday Lunchtime Pop Up Pub at Forge Cottage, opposite the Cross on Sunday July 3rd. Please bring a picnic and the whole family. We'll supply the licenced bar from 12 noon to 3 pm and there'll be plenty of space in Steve and Linda's lovely garden.
Then we have another Pop Up Pub at Primrose Farm, Hall Road, down the road from the Cross, on Saturday August 13th from 5pm. This time the Harwich Leading Lights Morris Dancers will be providing the entertainment, we'll have our bar in the Sticklegs Brewery on-site and a Primrose Pork barbeque. Again please bring the whole family.
We are still very actively campaigning to save the Cross Inn and making some progress. The current owner lent us the keys a few nights ago and we were able to have a look round. The good news is that it's not as bad as we'd feared. Yes it's a mess and yes it will cost money to put right, but it could have been a lot worse. We're still looking into a number of options to safeguard the future of the Cross as a village pub and we'll update you when we have something definite. The latest news on the pub garden planning application isn't as positive. We objected to the original detailed planning application, which showed a cart lodge on the old pub patio, since it would have impacted the future viability of the pub, and were optimistic when we heard that new drawings were being submitted. Sadly the revised plan still has the patio shown as parking for the residential development. This is no improvement and we have raised further objections.
We hope to see you over the summer and here are a few photo's from our Pop Up Pub Music Night last month (thanks again to Tea Ladies for the music and the weather).
