Onwards and Upwards. I think it's 115 shareholders and £154,000 invested - and I say think because we keep getting more and more shareholders. Thank you all, you wonderful people. Our last pop up pub at the Cross Inn is this weekend, 18th - 20th November and, to meet the terms of our share prospectus, we need to raise £210,000 so we can complete the purchase and re-open the Cross Inn, Great Bromley as a community-owned and community-run pub.
How about this? Nearly £150,000 invested in the Cross Inn by 104 shareholders. Two weeks to go and £60,000 to raise, and it really does seem achievable.
Wow, what amazing success we're having. We started selling shares on 7th October and here we are on the 1st November with nearly £120,000 invested by 83 Shareholders. Thank you one and all.
The Cross Inn is open this weekend for drinks and shares and on Saturday night we've having a special curry night
The Pub is open 6:30-11 on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd and from 12-3 on Sunday 23rd October. Hope to see you there
What an amazing weekend. Volunteers have spent the last few months preparing for our share launch, and it paid off this weekend. And it's all down to you our supporters. Thank you.
At last, we're officially launching our Save The Bromley Cross Share Prospectus on Friday 7th October. For a minimum of £250 you'll be able to buy a share in the Cross Inn and make a community investment, which will ensure the Cross Inn stays as a pub, and more importantly becomes a Community Hub. We have a plan to get the Post Office re-opened part-time in the back room, and ideas to make the building available for community use.
Those of you who, have been following our progress, know that obtaining tax relief for our investors could make or break our campaign. And we have some great news on that front.
We've spent many months working on a business plan and share prospectus, and we have just had this approved for SEIS and EIS Tax Relief by HMRC. That means our investors can claim back either 50% or 30% of their investment from the tax man, assuming you've paid enough tax. It works something like this.
Our next Pop Up Pub is at Primrose Farm on Saturday 13th August from 5 pm.
Our bar will be in Sticklegs Brewery which recently moved to the farm, less than a mile from the Cross Inn (we were considering a pipe direct from the brewery to the pub, but are worried about the wastage when we clean out the pipes). Primrose Pork will be supplying the barbecue, and Harwich Leading Lights Morris Dancers will be providing the entertainment at around 6:30.
