Our next Pop Up Pub is at Primrose Farm on Saturday 13th August from 5 pm.
Our bar will be in Sticklegs Brewery which recently moved to the farm, less than a mile from the Cross Inn (we were considering a pipe direct from the brewery to the pub, but are worried about the wastage when we clean out the pipes). Primrose Pork will be supplying the barbecue, and Harwich Leading Lights Morris Dancers will be providing the entertainment at around 6:30.
Our community offer to buy the Cross Inn for £190,000 has been accepted, so now the real hard work starts!
Thanks to everyone who came to our Pop Up Pub music night in May and I hope everyone will come to our next Pop Up Pubs this summer.
Our next event will be a Sunday Lunchtime Pop Up Pub at Forge Cottage, opposite the Cross on Sunday July 3rd. Please bring a picnic and the whole family. We'll supply the licenced bar from 12 noon to 3 pm and there'll be plenty of space in Steve and Linda's lovely garden.
Our 4th Pop Up Pub is only 24 hours away. Everyome is welcome and I hope you are all coming to have a good time and support a worthy cause.
One of the reasons we no longer have a local pub or post office was Tendring Council's decision to grant outline planning permission for 2 houses on the Cross Inn's garden at the end of 2014. The detailed application for the 2 houses has now been made and is open for comments on Tendring's planning website. http://www.tendringdc.gov.uk/planning/planning-applications/view-planning-applications-and-comment
Pop Up Pub number 4 is nearly here. Jim and Lesley are opening up their shed at Southview, just down the road from the Cross for a night of music.
Thanks to the local and regional press for the coverage. It all helps the campaign. Dave Monks on BBC Radio Essex yesterday (23rd Feb) http://www.greatbromleycross.org.uk/save_the_cross_inn/BBCRadioEssex23Feb2016.mp3
