Offer to buy the Cross Turned Down
Save The Bromley Cross has been turned down on our first offer to buy the Cross Inn.
We paid for a commercial valuation and, based on that, made what we felt was a reasonable offer for the value of the pub and garden, as a public house. We made it clear we would not be developing the garden. Our offer was not accepted, and we were told that the owners are holding out for the full asking price, £395,000, since they see the pub as a development opportunity. In our opinion the Cross is not worth anywhere near this sort of a money as a pub, and we are not interested in buying a development opportunity.
That doesn't mean we are giving up. It just means it will take more time to Save The Bromley Cross.
Please come to our next steering group meeting on Thursday 1st October at 8pm in Great Bromley Cricket Pavillion, behind the Village Hall, if you want to know more, or just watch this space.
